If there were such a thing as the parents of adventure racing in Minnesota, they would have to be Dan Williams and Rebecca Lundberg. Williams and Lundberg are veteran adventure racers who have competed in events around the world. They've spread their love of the sport in Minnesota by putting on local races, starting an online discussion group, hosting clinics and training programs and creating a company that makes and sells a line of ultralight gear designed for adventure racing.

In adventure racing, a transition area (TA) is a place where your team switches from one discipline to another, like from trekking to mountain biking. Effective teams do not view transitions as a place to take a break. Instead, they push through transitions with as much efficiency as possible, because time is still ticking away.
